The Chiefs Prove that Liberty and Justice for All does not Exist.

I did not think it was possible for a compromise that allowed slavery to continue in the United States could get worse than it already was 202 years after it happened.

The original United States Constitution said that slavery and the slave trade could not be abolished prior to 1808. But there were many economies that relied on slavery to keep things moving. After the Louisiana Purchase there was a lot of talk about what states would be admitted to the Union and would they be free states or slave states. In 1820 this came to a head with the admission of Missouri to the Union as a slave state. It allowed Missouri to enter as a slave state, and all states that currently had slaves were allowed to keep them, but any state North of the southern border of Missouri could not be admitted to the Union unless it were a free state. This actually affected the state of California at the time. But today we are not talking about that. Today we are talking about how the Kansas City Chiefs only exist because the state they play in allowed slavery until 1865.

If the State of Missouri did not exist the Chiefs would not have been playing in this football game. And they would not even exist. I have a problem with a state that entered the union and prolonged slavery in the United States being allowed to have a football team. And this is not the only problem I have with the Chiefs. The legacy of slavery is of course felt in both Buffalo and Kansas City.

Buffalo never had a population of slaves and was the last stop on the northern leg of the Underground railroad. Many enslaved people escaped from from Kansas City to Buffalo.

If the Chiefs had been following league rules and were an ethical franchise there would be a number of there players that would not be playing in the National Football League. Frank Clark and Tryeek Hill have both been arrested for domestic disputes. Hill actually pled guilty to this and he should be in prison not on the field in the NFL playoffs. Sadly our society places more value on a person that can catch a football than they do on women and children.

The overtime rule was not the worst part of the playoff game between the Bills and the Chiefs. It was the the Chiefs were even allowed to be playing football in the first place. Of course I expect no better from a team whose state only exists because of a strong desire to keep black people enslaved.

All men are created equally with liberty and justice for all, has never been true in the United States. The creation of Missouri and allowing the Chiefs to continue to play football when numerous players should be serving lengthy prison sentences adds to the proof of such.
